Dangerous in a Kilt by Anna Durand #erotic #romance

Anna Durand will be awarding a $20 Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

If your book were made into a movie, who would you want to play your main characters?
For an authentic Scotsman, Gerard Butler would be fantastic—but Chris Hemsworth would also make an awesome Lachlan! For Erica, I'd love to see Natalie Portman or Rachel McAdams in the role. They both have the quirkiness that is quintessentially Erica.

How do you come up with the titles of your books?
Sometimes, the titles just pop into my mind; other times, I have to brainstorm ideas until I find the right one. I try to give each book a name that speaks to something in the story or an overriding theme of the book. With Dangerous in a Kilt, the title came to me while I was a writing a scene in which Erica tells Lachlan hot guys are dangerous. Add in the kilt, for the Scottish element, and voila! A book is named.

What does your writing space look like?
Messy! Unfortunately, this is usually the case. I try to tame the mess, but it always returns. I have a dictionary and multiple thesauruses on hand, within easy reach, for those times when I need a little help getting the creative juices flowing.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
Reading, of course, but also playing with my new puppies, making jewelry, hanging out with friends, and listening to music. Much of what I do for fun finds its way into my books, though, since writers don't really have "off time." My brain is always hunting for new ideas!

What is your favourite color?
Red—and its child color, pink. I love the bright, vibrant red of cherries. It's a very passionate color!

What is your favourite pleasure food?
Popcorn, preferably with chocolate. There's just something about the sweet and the salty I can't resist.

What is your favourite season?
I love springtime, when the snow has melted, the grass turns green, and the wildflowers pop up in droves. Daisies are my favorite. After a long winter, I look forward to the return of the foliage.

What is your favourite television show?
My favorite show is also my guilty pleasure—Lucifer. It's paranormal, which I love, but it also has plenty of humor and a touch of romance. I love the fish-out-of-water aspect of the story, as well as how the devil plays the piano and sings.

What is your favourite movie?
Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Anytime I've had a bad day and need cheering up, I pop this into the DVD player. I love the rip-roaring action and the romance, but I also enjoy knowing the lead actors did many of their own stunts. That makes it all the more fun to watch.

Who is your favourite actor?
Oooh, that's a hard one! Having recently watched both Jurassic World (again!) and Guardians of the Galaxy (again!), I'd have to say Chris Pratt. He can do the humor, but he's also a great action hero.

What is your favourite song?
Wow, that's even harder to choose! I love music and listen it to whenever I'm writing, but my favorite tends to change from day to day. Right now, I'm loving "I Believe in You" by Michael Bublé, from his newest album. The first time I heard the song, it made me think of my work-in-progress, Wicked in a Kilt, the second book in the Hot Scots series. The song epitomizes the relationship between the hero, Aidan, and the woman he longs to win.

What is your favourite comfort clothing attire?
You'll find me lounging in sweats, T-shirt, and slippers—pink plaid slippers, of course!

What books might we find on your bedside table?
Since I read mainly on my Kindle, I tend to have a lot of books on the table! Right now, I'm perusing The Naughty Little Book of Gaelic, a kind of glossary of dirty phrases and curse words. The book is published by a university press, so it's high-brow naughtiness.

Describe yourself in three words.
Quirky, determined, cheerful.

Blurb
Good-girl Erica Teague is out on bail, charged with a crime her ex-lover committed. Her desperate bid to experience one wild night of sizzling sex, before her trial and certain conviction, lands her in the arms of Lachlan MacTaggart, a hot Scot with a secret past. She can't resist his offer to enjoy one month of sex and companionship with no strings. But when their hot fling gets personal, can their passion free their imprisoned hearts?

Excerpt
I swigged my brandy. A flash of fruity sweetness raced over my tongue, chased by a tangy burn. Why was I waiting for a man who didn't have the courtesy to call and cancel? Enough of this. I leaped off the stool onto my five-inch heels and tottered, mirroring my stool's motion. What the hell had I been thinking, wearing stilettos for the first time in my life?

Strong hands grasped my upper arms. "Easy there."

I craned my neck to behold my would-be savior. My heart thudded.

A giant of a man peered down into my eyes, his body towering several inches above me. Whoa, mama. The heels elevated my five-four to five-ten, which must've made him well over six feet tall. Thick muscles in his impossibly broad shoulders flexed as he maintained his hold on me. The lights glistened on his short, dark hair, casting it in unearthly hues. The sensation of his fingers on my skin and the proximity of his body flooded me with heat and my mouth watered at the sight of acres of hard, defined muscles straining his skintight black T-shirt. His powerful thighs vanished under a kilt, its plaid woven in pastel shades of green and blue with orange lines threaded through them. The blue in the fabric echoed his pale eyes, which studied me with electrifying interest. Black combat boots covered his feet but somehow, combined with his angular features, they lent him a rugged appeal.

I raked my gaze over his body, drinking in every inch of him, until our gazes intersected.
