Becoming Dragon by Eve Langlais #Contemporary #Romance

One randomly chosen winner via rafflecopter will win a $50 Amazon/BN.com gift card.
Three randomly chosen winners via rafflecopter will win a print a copy of Becoming Dragon (international giveaway).

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Cherry cheesecake. Mmmmmmm.
Which mythological creature are you most like? Now that’s a tough one. So I’m going to go big, and say  a mermaid. Seems like a cool gig until you get caught in a net…
First book you remember making an indelible impression on you. I will never forget my first romance book, Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I fell in love with the genre.
How do you develop your plot and characters? By the seat of my pants. I take off running, my fingers typing whatever my characters are dictating. Some days are really freaking interesting.
Describe your writing space. Utter mess. Seriously. I’ve got an agenda on my desk with barely legible scaratching to remind me of stuff. Sitcky notes all over the place with more scribbles. Coffee cup. Water bottle. Overflowing can of pens. Overflowing document stacker. It’s a disaster beyond belief lol.

BLURB
Can he embrace the beast within?

I’m a monster. That’s what Brandon thinks when he flees the medical institute that changed him. Living a normal life isn’t in the cards for him because, while he can hide his scaly skin, his wings are hard to miss. So he runs and lives in the shadows where monsters belong. What he didn’t expect to find were others just like him, and they call themselves dragons. Or so Aimi with the violet eyes tells him when she pins him to the ground.

Seriously, though, dragons?

He doesn’t want to believe, but the evidence is mounting. Not helping his resolve is the fact that the woman with the silver hair doesn’t fear the monster and wants to claim him.

However, before he can think of his own happiness, he has to rescue his little sister. Uncle Theo kidnapped her, and Brandon will do anything to get her back, even if he must embrace the monster within to become the dragon.

Excerpt
“What do you mean, what am I?” Her brow crinkled. “I am the same thing you are.” Her shoulders drew back, her head tilted imperially, and for a moment, shadowy wings glistened silver at her back. “We are dragon.”

At her serious claim, he gaped then snorted before he outright laughed.

“Why are you giggling?” She seemed perturbed at his reaction.

“Men don’t giggle. We guffaw. And I’m guffawing because that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I’m no dragon. I’m nothing anymore but a fucking mess.” Bitter words for a bitter fate.

Run to Her by Lynn Kellan Contemporary Romance

One randomly chosen winner via rafflecopter will win a $50 Amazon/BN.com gift card.

Have you ever had an imaginary friend? I didn’t have an imaginary friend until I started writing romance. Now my mind is full of imaginary friends who flirt with each other. They’re good company unless they’re quarreling.

When I was a kid, I spent most of my time with my younger brother. He was my best friend, and still is. Because we were so close, I always had someone to be with. Thanks to him, an imaginary friend was unnecessary. I had a real one, who lived with me.

Do you have any phobias? I used to have a profound fear of flying. This also bled into other areas of my life. Crossing bridges was difficult. Driving alone became difficult. Lots of things became difficult because the anxiety started to bleed all over the place.

I ended up taking a “Fear of Flying” audio course, which helped a lot. However, my fear of flying eased significantly when I stopped forcing myself to do things I didn’t want to do. Flying is a lot more pleasant when I WANT to travel.

To reduce my general anxiety, I learned how to meditate. I did a lot of progressive relaxation, which helped enormously. In addition, I strove to spend time with people who were positive, happy people.

Do you listen to music when you're writing? I have to be careful about listening to music when I write. I can’t listen to music with lyrics in English, because the lyrics distract me. However, music is a powerful tool that conveys mood, so I will tune in to songs that have the “feel” that I’m trying to convey in my books. If I find one song in particular that works, I play it over and over and over while I write the scene. In those cases, I listen to instrumentals or songs that are sung in Italian (usually by Josh Groban) so that I’m not focusing on the lyrics.

Secretly, I hope my subconscious is learning Italian while I listen to these beautiful songs.

Do you ever read your stories out loud? I do not read my stories out loud, mostly because my throat hurts when I talk too much. This is going to sound goofy, but my grandmother used to lose her voice for months at a time. No big deal, right? I mean, if you have to lose something, a voice isn’t a bad thing to lose. But I can remember how frustrated she felt when she couldn’t talk. She always had to carry a pencil and a notepad. Too bad they didn’t have text messages twenty years ago, right?
Doctors were never able to figure out why she lost her voice. I find that when I talk too much, I feel the same pain she used to complain about. I’m careful not to strain my voice, which means I listen a lot.

Tell us about your main character and who inspired him/her. My main characters were spawned when I happened on a picture of Wladimir Klitschko (heavyweight professional boxer) and Hayden Panettiere (pretty blonde American actress). Wlad is a huge guy and has a rugged, Slavic face. He looks like a real tough guy, but whenever he’s with Hayden (who is tiny and adorable), he looks content and at ease. They are such physical polar opposites, which intrigued me. I thought it would be neat to write a story about a guy who looked like Wlad and who made his living with his hands (in this case, my hero is a mechanic). The heroine in RUN TO HER is an adorable blonde who happens to be an accountant. At first glance, they look like they have nothing in common…until one lie changes everything.

BLURB
She avoids men like him. He needs a woman like her. One lie changes everything...

Gabriel Antonov is a mechanic who can fix anything, even a woman’s hesitance. His talents have earned him the well-deserved reputation as a player, but when a routine one-night stand goes wrong, he’s haunted by what he’s done. Nothing can free him from those depraved memories, until he meets Leigh Nelson.

Leigh avoids strong, silent types like Gabe, who is stronger and quieter than most guys. The only man she’s focused on is her father, who is suffering from a devastating health crisis. She’ll do anything to help him, even at the cost of ignoring her own well-being, but the stress is getting to her. Gabe’s strength is tough to resist, and his silence might be hiding a crushing secret only she can understand.

He can’t outrun his gut-deep craving for her. Problem is, she’s running from him. When they’re marooned in his lakeside cabin, he might finally catch her…if he can admit why he’s falling apart without her.

EXCERPT
She rose and gave him a smile.

That smile made him want to do pointless, tender things like brush his fingers through the blonde curls hanging down her slim back, but he kept his hands to himself. With her, he had to be careful. Take things slow. If he moved too fast, she’d come up with some reason to leave. He wanted to give her reason to stay.

For one night.

Or a long weekend.

Whatever it took to satisfy his hunger for her.

For the first time in months, he wanted to be with a woman. Not just any woman, though. Just Leigh. He wanted her so badly, every word he spoke came out curt and rough. Winning her trust would be tough if he kept sounding like a horny Neanderthal, so he kept his mouth shut and guided her out of The Crab Trap with a light touch to her back.

Cassidy Calhoun can't believe she's the secret daughter of an oil billionaire. This small-town Texas girl with student loans by the barrel has never gotten a thing she didn't earn for herself.

The terms of her late father's will say Cassidy—and her newfound spoiled half-siblings—must work a year at the family's floundering business before they inherit a dime. Too bad the only thing Cass knows about oil is that it makes the junker she drives go.

Mason MacKenzie, the evaluator for their test, will help her get up to speed. Or will he? Mason is a boot-wearing, truck-driving Houston hottie who runs Calhoun Petroleum's biggest rival. The sparks between him and Cassidy could combust any minute. But the closer they get, the more strange near-accidents Cassidy seems to be having. BLURB - FOUR NIGHTS AT SEA
Charlene “Charlie” Stanton doubts her maiden voyage on a lusty singles cruise will direct her sails toward love. But an unexpected lothario just might change the tide in her favor . . .

Still recovering from a highly publicized divorce, love is the last thing on her mind—especially when she realizes she’s mistakenly booked herself a spot on a kink cruise. That is until she meets Ford, an outsider just like her, and he whips her attitude into submission. Despite rules limiting their interaction, he shows her a world where pleasure is encouraged, and nothing is forbidden. And with Ford as her anchor, she begins to wonder if she can turn four nights of fantasy into more nights of reality when the trip is over . . .

Excerpt - Texas Heat
Cass found him studying the book collection on the shelves in the living room. He looked good, like a normal guy, in cargo shorts, a T-shirt, and leather flip-flops. Great muscled legs. No surprise there. His shirt hugged that amazing chest, which surely came from regular workouts. Was there any part of him that wasn’t perfect?

Of course there was. He was arrogant and thought he could make a play for her and she’d fall at his feet. Then there was the way he steered her around like she couldn’t make a move without his guidance. Hah! She was Cassidy Calhoun, the woman who’d worked her way through school without anyone’s help. Certainly without a boatload of money. She was tough. More her father’s daughter than anyone knew. And she’d prove it to all of them.

She stiffened her spine. She could resist Mason’s charm and male beauty. If he thought he could steer her right into an affair and to be his inside woman at Calhoun Petroleum, he could think again.

“You want some water or a beer?” She might be tough, but she did have manners.

“No, I’m fine.” He pulled a book from the shelf.

“Those books aren’t mine. I haven’t had much time for reading anything but business texts since high school.” Which was sad but true.

He held up a self-help book on finding love. “You’re not looking for love?”

“Nope.” Cass grabbed her purse. Did he really think she was going to fall for that stale routine? “Let’s go.”

“Wait a minute. I don’t believe you. I know women. They’re always looking.” He picked up his bag. “Seriously? Not interested?”

Cass gave him a scan. Yes, she just bet he knew women. They probably threw themselves at him on a regular basis. “Not looking because I’ve already found it, Mason.” Cass opened the door and stepped outside. “You met me and came after me hard without a thought about what I wanted. Maybe when you’re after another notch on your bedpost it doesn’t matter if the woman is in a relationship.” She turned to face him. “Listen up. You’re wasting your time hitting on me. I have a boyfriend who I love very much.”

“No shit. That is a news flash.”

Call to Honor: A SEAL Brotherhood Novel, #1 by Tawny Weber #Contemporary #Romance

Tawny will be awarding a $25 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

BLURB
“No man left behind” is inscribed in the DNA of every SEAL and Lieutenant Diego Torres is no exception. But with a team member killed—and the body missing— Diego’s honor is sorely tested. Now his career and reputation are on the line, and a traitor is hiding among them. Diego wants answers...and only one woman has them.

Single mom Harper Maclean has two priorities—raising her son Nathan and starting a new life. Her mysterious new neighbor may be impossibly charming, but Diego asks too many questions about her past—and about the father of her child. Questions she fears will reveal her burning attraction for Diego, and ultimately put them all in danger’s path.

EXCERPT
A minute later, they were still staring at the wrong side of the door—or the right side, in Harper’s opinion—and Nathan looked ready to explode.

“Maybe he’s busy or he didn’t hear the bell,” she said, secretly thrilled even as she soothed Nathan’s disappointment. “We can try again later.”

Before she could write this off as an A for effort, the door swung open.

He had heard the bell.

He’d forgotten to put on a shirt, though.

She forgot all about her urgent desire to leave.

“Hey,” Diego greeted with a curious smile at odds with the caution in his eyes.

She wasn’t paying a lot of attention to his eyes, however.

She was much more interested in that body.

Because oh, my, he was built.

His shoulders were broad and muscular, his arms ripped. A dark sprinkling of hair covered his chest, bisecting his pectorals before leading down abs so flat and hard, she’d bet that she could bounce a quarter off of them.

His skin was a dusky gold, and marred here and there with scars. The tattoo she’d noticed on his arm the night before was actually a series of jagged tribal swirls intersected by a trident. The other, the rose-strewn word Honor that sat low on his belly, curving over his navel just above the waistband of his jeans. Harper’s fingers tingled as she imagined tracing them over that work of art.

Were the colors as smooth as his skin? Was there significance in the placement of the word? She wet her lips, not sure what it meant, but really, really curious.

Her gaze meandered its way up his chest again with a slow side trip across those shoulders before returning to his face.

The man was gorgeous.

He was also staring at her as if she was a gaping groupie offering door-to-door cherry-flavored hot oil rubs.

A sexual haze wrapped around her, tinting her vision, blurring her judgment. Her thoughts were filled with questions and ideas.

It wasn’t realizing that she wouldn’t mind getting her hands on that body that pulled her out of the haze. It was the look in his eyes that said he’d like it, too.

She had to call on every inch of poise she had to keep her feet glued to the step instead of running and the blush heating her neck from climbing.

“Hi,” she managed. That was the only thing she could think of to say, other than yowza. Which was probably inappropriate.

Probably.

It's the perfect opportunity to revisit an old dream--one that apparently involves naked cowboys . . .

Flynn Barlow didn't expect anyone to walk in on him showering at the empty ranch where his family's cattle have always grazed. Even more surprising, the new ranch owner plans to turn it into a residential training program for women who need a hand up. A smart, gorgeous woman with a worthy cause? EXCERPT
Unconcerned that she had a firearm aimed at his center mass, he gave her a brazen once-over. Then he motioned his head at the gun. “I don’t think it’s loaded, but you should never point a weapon at
someone unless you mean to shoot him.”

“I’ll shoot you.” It was a bluff. If push came to shove, Gia didn’t think she could pull the trigger.

Again, he eyed the rifle with indifference. “Yeah, I don’t think so. Otherwise you would’ve removed the safety.”

“Give me your pistol,” she said. He looked confused. “The one in the bathroom.”

“I don’t have it.” He held out both his hands. “Feel free to pat me down.”

She wasn’t getting anywhere near him. “Back up real slow.”

He glanced behind his shoulder. “Where we going?”

“Into the bedroom.”

“Yeah? Sounds good.” He flicked his gaze over her, eyeing her from head to toe. The guy thought he was a real comedian. “Why don’t you let me—”

“Not now.” She needed to concentrate and was reevaluating the bedroom idea. But that was where her cell phone was. Gia hadn’t seen a landline since she’d gotten here. She lifted the rifle so that the muzzle was pointed directly at his chest.

He rolled his eyes but mercifully kept quiet. They made it to the master suite without incident and with one hand Gia held the rifle against her shoulder, using the other one to search her purse for the
phone.

Eureka! She punched 9-1-1 with her index finger, put the phone on speaker, and dropped it on the bed so she could resume holding the rifle with both hands.

“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?”

Gia would’ve sworn she saw her captive snicker. She promptly ignored him and told the operator her situation. The cavalry was on its way, thank goodness.

“You think I could put my shirt on before the cops get here?”

Wet by Ashley Bostock #Contemporary #Romance

Ashley Bostock will be awarding $20 Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

BLURB
I’ve always been, Miranda Phillips, the town pariah. Growing up with neglectful parents, having sought attention from all the guys that were willing to give it to me, I wasn't the most well-behaved kid in Lone Star. Killing an entire pond of Mrs. Potter’s fish when I was sixteen is one of many juvenile delinquent acts I’ve done in my past.

But now I am Lone Star’s reporter, only reporter and I’ve come a long way from being that lost, troubled girl, even if most of the town still judged me for it. I don’t allow anyone to get in the way of what I want. Including Ryan John. So when I corner him in the dark hallway and get him to succumb to the sizzling attraction between us, I know I’m playing with fire.

***

Even though I’ve successfully avoided her for two months, I haven't forgotten how she tastes or what she feels like in my arms. And when I get sent a mysterious letter from some company wanting to buy my thousand shares of water rights that have been in my family for over a hundred years, I’m convinced that there is no one…err, better equipped, to help me than Lone Star's only reporter, Miranda Phillips.

I know how desperately she wants me and this letter gives me all the reason I need to spend one night with the girl from the wrong side of town. One night in exchange for her tight investigative skills. And believe me, she's tight, in more ways than one. One night. Because Miranda is trouble and being on the city council, as well as guardian to my younger brother and sister, means I can't afford trouble.

Even if it comes packaged just the way I like.

Excerpt
Ryan wasn’t a bad boy, not like all of the bad boys that had breezed through my life. Nope, this one was good and I had somehow managed to snag his attention. He was good because of the things he hadn’t experienced in his life, like I had, by the time he was eighteen. No, by the time I was eighteen, I was working full-time, had already experienced the joys and pain of sex and heart break, had been involved in illegal activities and done more things than any one person should experience in their life time.

But not him.

Maybe this is why he’s been avoiding me all night. It’d been too long since I’d had a man touch me. Bad girl that I was, I knew what had to be done. I watched him until he took off alone down the darkened hall of the banquet room and without thinking of potential consequences, I followed him. I stood on the edges of the darkened hallway and waited until he came barreling out of the bathroom and I threw myself into his arms. Literally. He’d caught me by surprise, just like I’d caught him. His muscular arms were already around me, balancing me so we wouldn’t fall together. Even though the naughty girl part of me would have been okay with that. His smoldering gaze bored into my soul, neither of us spoke a word.

The attraction was definitely there.
