The Last Resort by Ember Leigh #Erotic #Romance

Ember Leigh will be awarding a $15 Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.
If your book were made into a movie, who wouldyou want to play your main characters? Oooh, you want to get right to the good stuff, don’t you? Okay. Let’s see. For Rose, I’d definitely have Jennifer Love Hewitt, but the sportiest, most toned version of her possible. I definitely had her face in mind when creating Rose. And for Garrett? Someone like Adrien Grenier, but a longer-haired version. We need the longish, wavy dark hair, those bright eyes, and chiseled jaw…*sigh*. Yeah.
How do you come up with the titles of your books? They come to me one of two ways. Way #1: Unprovoked and completely out of sequence with the writing of the book, which sometimes produces a title that SOUNDS great but might not really hit on the core of the story or, Way #2: Desperate polling of beta readers, family members, and friends, hoping that something that anyone says will spur an idea that makes even remote sense. I am HORRIBLE with titles. I just want to hire a permanent Title-Maker. They can come live in my house and eat meals with us. It’ll be fun, I swear, if any of you reading this want to apply for the position.
What does your writing space look like? A mess. I have an organizational system that only I can understand. It involves lots of post-it notes, papers arranged into precise and abundant piles, and lots of reminders hanging on a bulletin board that stares at me. Plus, if I ever dare close my planner, my life falls apart, so it must constantly be splayed open, hogging all available desk space. It’s rough, folks.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing? Gardening, yoga, cooking, and hanging with my husband and friends! My day-to-day sees a lot of yoga and cooking in addition to writing. I think really my primary tasks as a human are: write words, roll around on yoga mat, and soften vegetables in sauté pan.
What is your favourite color? This feels like a trick question, but I’ll go for it anyway—black. And fuschia. And orange. And goldenrod. I guess my favorite color rotates between these options on any given day!
What is your favourite pleasure food? Beef stroganoff, for some reason. I don’t even think we really made it in my family growing up. Somehow, it just became associated with comfort food and sinful delicious awesomeness. I make a mean beef stroganoff, too. Which is weird, because I rarely eat meat and I certainly don’t like to cook it! This is the one weird exception.
What is your favourite season? This one is hard to answer. I used to think that spring was my favorite season, but when I get to thinking about it, I love each and every season here in Ohio. I came to realize this only when I moved abroad and lived a couple different 2-season locations (namely: Peru, and the coast of Chile). So while I originally thought I wanted to escape winter entirely, I realized I needed winter (and do like it) to allow me to more fully appreciate all of the other seasons.
What is your favourite television show? I don’t watch TV regularly, but occasionally I’ll start a series that takes over my life. Over the past few years, my biggest obsessions were with Sons of Anarchy and Downton Abbey. But beyond my occasional dalliances, I am horribly oblivious to popular series and other rumblings in the entertainment world. Usually when someone asks me “So do you remember that episode in….?” I give them a stern look and say “No.” And then they gasp incredulously because they realize I’ve never seen Orange Is The New Black, or Game of Thones, or whatever it is.
What is your favourite movie? Inception, forever. *dreamy sigh* It does things to my brain and psyche that I just can’t describe. That movie really shook me when I first saw it. I try to watch it at least once a year. Like my annual holiday celebration with Leonardo DiCaprio and the crew cavorting through the multi-layered dreamscapes.
What is your favourite comfort clothing attire? I dress daily in my comfort clothing, which is basically leggings and a tank top. I am a FREAK for leggings. Seriously, I don’t even own jeans anymore. Isn’t that crazy? Some people have really strict, bizarre feeling about leggings and their appropriate use within society, which I find even crazier. Like “people above this age can’t wear leggings” or “leggings are for X”. I mean, hey—they’re the most comfortable thing in the world. Why WOULDN’T I wear them?
What books might we find on your bedside table? Right now, I have a couple different genres populating my nightstand. I’m reading Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth”, and I JUST finished Helena Hunting’s hilarious and super-steamy romance “Pucked”. And beyond that, I have like three different stacks of books that I’m getting to, and I have been getting to for years. Ah, the never-ending TBR pile!
Describe yourself in three words. Bright. Fun. Interesting! Wow, tooted my own horn, didn’t I?
BLURB

Rose Delaney is a baby bounty hunter, rescuing children from fugitive ex-spouses. All she wants is to return a recovered child to its mother and get back to her regimented solitary life. But when a snow storm leaves her and baby Emmy stranded, Rose has no choice but to lean on the ruggedly handsome rescuer, who thinks the baby is hers. Holed up in their mountain resort-under-construction and unable to contact Emmy’s mother, Rose's priority is hitting the road—even if Garrett’s erotic touch entices her to ride out the storm.

Construction boss Garrett Galo loves his job, but he never imagined a perk like being snowbound during a whiteout with the sassy brunette he just rear-ended. He’s learned to stay away from women who want a family, especially when they come with a kid in tow. When passionate nighttime encounters flare between them, Garrett begins to question what he’d risk to keep Rose.

This isn’t the time or the place for romance—but will five days on a mountain make these loners reconsider giving in to love?

EXCERPT
Inching the door open further, she poked her head in. Garrett’s body silhouetted against the translucent shower door. The image of his chiseled, naked body seared through her mind. Her mouth went dry.

She crept inside and eased the door shut, body rigid as she watched his shadow move inside the shower. The fogged mirror hid her reflection as the soft mesh shorts slipped to ground, followed by her undies and T-shirt.

Garrett began humming, out of tune, something that sounded suspiciously like a children’s song.

Rose grinned, excitement roiling beneath her skin. This not only was going to happen, it needed to happen. Her heart thumped in her chest as she reached for the shower door.

The door opened a few inches before Garrett’s humming turned into a gasp. He whipped around and pulled aside the shower door, eyes wild.

“Rose.”

She grinned up at him, loving the swirls of shock and appreciation in his eyes as he took her in.

“Can I join?”

His mouth hung open a moment, gaze sweeping over her naked body, lighting fires on her skin. He grabbed her around the waist and yanked her inside the shower, slamming the door shut behind her.

The water hit her body in a pleasingly warm rush. He pinned her to the shower wall with his hips. Her breath hitched.

“I don’t even want to ask why you’re naked in my bathroom,” he said, kissing her neck, “and I don’t even care. Fact is, you’re here, and you’re mine now.”
