Emily de Molly

I've been hearing loads of good things about IG: @emilydemolly #polishes so I decided I wanted to get in on the action! I visited her online store and grabbed myself 3 polishes. The one I'm going to talk about today is #ModernLuster

Taken from their website:

"...“Modern Luster” is a 5 free hand-blended, custom nail polish.
(Toluene, Formaldehyde, TSF resin, Camphor and DBP free)

BASE – A bright pink/watermelon jelly, extremely hard to photograph!

GLITTER – Copper shimmer and lime gold sparks

OPAQUE – in 2-3 coats depending on application..."

Full disclosure here. I #love pink nail polish. And if I can dare admit this in writing, I probably have too many pink polishes in my collection. I'm making a conscious effort to broaden my horizons. That being said, “Modern Luster” is on the top of my fav list. It's so easy to apply and it dries very fast. I love the shimmer and sparks.

I finished the #mani using a #MoYou #stamp and #opi polish as the stamping polish. The #gold and #silver dots are moyo stamping polish. I applied #sechevite

Would I recommend Emily de Molly? Yes. No question about it.

Myer had a sale and well... I kind of went mad on the #chichinailpolish - in my defense these little babies were only $2 a bottle. #bargain

However, I can't lie to you. The coverage on these particular colours isn't great. I can't comment on the other colours as I've not tried them yet. And I can't give you the name of the colours as it doesn't appear to be written on the bottle. When doing a #gradient I like to firstly paint my nails using the lightest of the gradient colours. I just could not get an opaque coverage. Even after three coats. I think if you used a white base coat and then the colour the coverage may be better.

That being said, these #nailpolishes are actually really good to do a gradient as the consistency of the #polish makes blending easy. I had no issues and only had to do two coats of the gradient.
Overall, for the price they're a good polish. I would definitely buy more.

I finished the gradient using a bundle monster stamp plate and moyou stamping polish.

Alice Through The Looking Glass by OPI

I have to admit when I first saw this colour - A Mirror Escape by #OPI from their #AliceThroughTheLookingGlass collection, I was dubious. It looks like liquid gold with flecks of silver/pink. It's not a glitter polish and I wasn't sure how this would apply. But, I was willing to give it a go.

What can I say? I LOVE it. You'll get an opaque finish in two coats and when it dries it kind of has a bashed metal look. I did apply a coat of #sechevite because without the top coat it feels kind of rough. Even if it didn't feel rough still apply a top coat to extend the longevity of your #mani and to make the colour pop.
