Becoming Dragon by Eve Langlais #Contemporary #Romance

One randomly chosen winner via rafflecopter will win a $50 Amazon/BN.com gift card.
Three randomly chosen winners via rafflecopter will win a print a copy of Becoming Dragon (international giveaway).

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Cherry cheesecake. Mmmmmmm.
Which mythological creature are you most like? Now that’s a tough one. So I’m going to go big, and say  a mermaid. Seems like a cool gig until you get caught in a net…
First book you remember making an indelible impression on you. I will never forget my first romance book, Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I fell in love with the genre.
How do you develop your plot and characters? By the seat of my pants. I take off running, my fingers typing whatever my characters are dictating. Some days are really freaking interesting.
Describe your writing space. Utter mess. Seriously. I’ve got an agenda on my desk with barely legible scaratching to remind me of stuff. Sitcky notes all over the place with more scribbles. Coffee cup. Water bottle. Overflowing can of pens. Overflowing document stacker. It’s a disaster beyond belief lol.

BLURB
Can he embrace the beast within?

I’m a monster. That’s what Brandon thinks when he flees the medical institute that changed him. Living a normal life isn’t in the cards for him because, while he can hide his scaly skin, his wings are hard to miss. So he runs and lives in the shadows where monsters belong. What he didn’t expect to find were others just like him, and they call themselves dragons. Or so Aimi with the violet eyes tells him when she pins him to the ground.

Seriously, though, dragons?

He doesn’t want to believe, but the evidence is mounting. Not helping his resolve is the fact that the woman with the silver hair doesn’t fear the monster and wants to claim him.

However, before he can think of his own happiness, he has to rescue his little sister. Uncle Theo kidnapped her, and Brandon will do anything to get her back, even if he must embrace the monster within to become the dragon.

Excerpt
“What do you mean, what am I?” Her brow crinkled. “I am the same thing you are.” Her shoulders drew back, her head tilted imperially, and for a moment, shadowy wings glistened silver at her back. “We are dragon.”

At her serious claim, he gaped then snorted before he outright laughed.

“Why are you giggling?” She seemed perturbed at his reaction.

“Men don’t giggle. We guffaw. And I’m guffawing because that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. I’m no dragon. I’m nothing anymore but a fucking mess.” Bitter words for a bitter fate.

Hello, my name is Eve. I’m a stay at home mom who writes full time in between juggling my three kids, hubby, and housework, I write hot romance with a bit of a twist. I like strong alpha males, naked chests and shifters. Lots of different breeds of shifters. I am also extremely partial to aliens, you know the kind who abduct their woman and then drive them insane…with pleasure of course.I love to write, and while I don’t always know what my mind is going to come up with next, I can promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because I love a happily ever after.

Run to Her by Lynn Kellan Contemporary Romance

One randomly chosen winner via rafflecopter will win a $50 Amazon/BN.com gift card.

Have you ever had an imaginary friend? I didn’t have an imaginary friend until I started writing romance. Now my mind is full of imaginary friends who flirt with each other. They’re good company unless they’re quarreling.

When I was a kid, I spent most of my time with my younger brother. He was my best friend, and still is. Because we were so close, I always had someone to be with. Thanks to him, an imaginary friend was unnecessary. I had a real one, who lived with me.

Do you have any phobias? I used to have a profound fear of flying. This also bled into other areas of my life. Crossing bridges was difficult. Driving alone became difficult. Lots of things became difficult because the anxiety started to bleed all over the place.

I ended up taking a “Fear of Flying” audio course, which helped a lot. However, my fear of flying eased significantly when I stopped forcing myself to do things I didn’t want to do. Flying is a lot more pleasant when I WANT to travel.

To reduce my general anxiety, I learned how to meditate. I did a lot of progressive relaxation, which helped enormously. In addition, I strove to spend time with people who were positive, happy people.

Do you listen to music when you're writing? I have to be careful about listening to music when I write. I can’t listen to music with lyrics in English, because the lyrics distract me. However, music is a powerful tool that conveys mood, so I will tune in to songs that have the “feel” that I’m trying to convey in my books. If I find one song in particular that works, I play it over and over and over while I write the scene. In those cases, I listen to instrumentals or songs that are sung in Italian (usually by Josh Groban) so that I’m not focusing on the lyrics.

Secretly, I hope my subconscious is learning Italian while I listen to these beautiful songs.

Do you ever read your stories out loud? I do not read my stories out loud, mostly because my throat hurts when I talk too much. This is going to sound goofy, but my grandmother used to lose her voice for months at a time. No big deal, right? I mean, if you have to lose something, a voice isn’t a bad thing to lose. But I can remember how frustrated she felt when she couldn’t talk. She always had to carry a pencil and a notepad. Too bad they didn’t have text messages twenty years ago, right?
Doctors were never able to figure out why she lost her voice. I find that when I talk too much, I feel the same pain she used to complain about. I’m careful not to strain my voice, which means I listen a lot.

Tell us about your main character and who inspired him/her. My main characters were spawned when I happened on a picture of Wladimir Klitschko (heavyweight professional boxer) and Hayden Panettiere (pretty blonde American actress). Wlad is a huge guy and has a rugged, Slavic face. He looks like a real tough guy, but whenever he’s with Hayden (who is tiny and adorable), he looks content and at ease. They are such physical polar opposites, which intrigued me. I thought it would be neat to write a story about a guy who looked like Wlad and who made his living with his hands (in this case, my hero is a mechanic). The heroine in RUN TO HER is an adorable blonde who happens to be an accountant. At first glance, they look like they have nothing in common…until one lie changes everything.

BLURB
She avoids men like him. He needs a woman like her. One lie changes everything...

Gabriel Antonov is a mechanic who can fix anything, even a woman’s hesitance. His talents have earned him the well-deserved reputation as a player, but when a routine one-night stand goes wrong, he’s haunted by what he’s done. Nothing can free him from those depraved memories, until he meets Leigh Nelson.

Leigh avoids strong, silent types like Gabe, who is stronger and quieter than most guys. The only man she’s focused on is her father, who is suffering from a devastating health crisis. She’ll do anything to help him, even at the cost of ignoring her own well-being, but the stress is getting to her. Gabe’s strength is tough to resist, and his silence might be hiding a crushing secret only she can understand.

He can’t outrun his gut-deep craving for her. Problem is, she’s running from him. When they’re marooned in his lakeside cabin, he might finally catch her…if he can admit why he’s falling apart without her.

EXCERPT
She rose and gave him a smile.

That smile made him want to do pointless, tender things like brush his fingers through the blonde curls hanging down her slim back, but he kept his hands to himself. With her, he had to be careful. Take things slow. If he moved too fast, she’d come up with some reason to leave. He wanted to give her reason to stay.

For one night.

Or a long weekend.

Whatever it took to satisfy his hunger for her.

For the first time in months, he wanted to be with a woman. Not just any woman, though. Just Leigh. He wanted her so badly, every word he spoke came out curt and rough. Winning her trust would be tough if he kept sounding like a horny Neanderthal, so he kept his mouth shut and guided her out of The Crab Trap with a light touch to her back.

Luke’s Redemption by Anni Fife #Contemporary #Erotic #Romantic #Suspense

Anni will be awarding $25 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

If your book were made into a movie, who would you want to play your main characters? Chris Hemsworth (‘Thor’) for Luke Hunter. He’s perfect! Mila Kunis for Katya Dalca

How do you come up with the titles of your books? I don’t really know the answer to that, but it is one of the first things that rises in my creative brain when I start preparing for a new book. In fact, I have the titles for my next two books already. It’s a strange occurrence but it’s like the title just appears to me, and I recognize it immediately for what it is.

What does your writing space look like? I recently moved house so although my office is still small, my view has hugely improved. I now look out over a gorgeous valley and down towards salt-water lagoons. Clean sea air blows inside and I am often treated to flocks of seabirds squawking nearby. My close-up view is all about the most important element to my writing—my characters—and they surround me. I print out reference images and reams of physical descriptions and traits, and stick them to the walls and on pin-up boards. Added to that are color-coded timelines, and various writing tips that trigger my left-brain when it’s sleepy.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing? I love walking on the beach searching for treasures the waves have brought in, especially my favorite muse, the pansy shell. Otherwise, you’ll find me hanging with my friends, drinking red wine around a barbecue, and gabbing about everything and nothing.

What is your favorite color? Purple

What is your favorite pleasure food? Pizza—with ham and mushroom and extra avocado—and a glass of red wine, or two, or three…

What is your favorite season? Summer. I love sunshine, light rains…but I hate WIND!

What is your favorite television show? I’m currently a fan of the Chicago Triumvirate – Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and especially, Chicago PD.

What is your favorite movie? Shawshank Redemption

Who is your favorite actor? Meryl Streep

What is your favorite song? Beautiful War by Kings of Leon

What is your favorite comfort clothing attire? A faded pink kikoy I bought on a trip to Zanzibar with an old T that is so threadbare I continually wonder how it’s going to survive another wash…but it does.

What books might we find on your bedside table? These days I only have my kindle nearby and I’m constantly updating it. Normally I always have the latest Kristen Ashley, and one or two books from my fellow Wild Rose authors—currently I’m reading Race the Darkness by Abbie Roads. I’m also delving into Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben and A Man Called Ove by Fredrick Backman.

Describe yourself in three words. Writer. Hermit-crab. #RedWineHolic.

BLURB
Chased by her criminal kingpin father, Katya Dalca runs to New Orleans and straight into the arms of Luke Hunter. Sucked into the carnal world of the French Quarter, she succumbs to Luke’s potent sexuality. He not only steals her breath, he steals her heart and the only leverage she has against her father. She is left with no choice except to pick up the pieces and rebuild her life alone.

Undercover DEA agent Luke Hunter thought his newest assignment—recover a stolen flash drive to gain the trust of the Russian mob—was like any other. But his target brings him to his knees, and after one taste of her intoxicating beauty, he's in too deep. Doing his job means walking away, leaving his heart behind with nothing but a promise to reunite. It's a promise he can't keep.

When Katya's past reaches out and her world unravels, her only hope is the one man she is most vulnerable to—Luke.

EXCERPT
The smell of beignets wafted up and distracted, I lifted the bag and took a deep breath. Whoosh! Fine sugar blew up out of the bag and coated me.

“Shit, honey, you look sweet all over.”

Oh, just great.

Blinking sugar out of my eyes I looked up. And up. He was tall, well over six foot. Midnight-blue eyes rimmed by a deeper blue-black smoldered lazily down at me. “You’re holding the best beignets in the world. You gonna stand there or you going to take a bite?”

“Umm.” Jeez, Katya. Say something.

“Here, let me hold that for you.” He took the coffee from my hand. “Go on, babe. Take a bite. It’ll be the best thing you’ll ever taste.”

Still struck dumb, I did what he asked and lifted a beignet out of the bag and took a big bite. Oh! It was like sinking my teeth into a sweet pillow of ambrosia.

“Good huh?”

I nodded and stared back at him. Then, without uttering a word, I stuffed the rest of the beignet into my mouth. He grinned at me, shaking his head. “Want to wash it down with this?” He held out my coffee.

My fingers brushed against his. Yikes! I couldn’t stop the slight tremor caused by his touch. I took a gulp of coffee - half rich chicory, half hot milk - and finally found my voice. “Would you like one?” I offered the bag of beignets to him.

“Would be like taking candy from a baby,” he grinned. “But don’t worry, I’ve got my own.” He dangled a packet like mine in front of me.

Then we both stood there and smiled at each other while we gorged on sugary donuts. He would reach for my coffee to free my hand. Then after I ate some fluffy yumminess, he’d hand it back to me so I could take a sip. We swallowed the last of our beignets and licked our fingers.

I didn’t even know his name, yet I was more turned on than I had ever been in my life.

Mist by Emily Mims #Romance #RromanticSuspense

Emily Mims will be awarding a $10 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

If your book were made into a movie, who would you want to play your main characters? Complete unknowns. Established stars bring every movie they’ve ever made with them.

How do you come up with the titles of your books? For the Smoky Blue series, my editor and I thought up some one-word descriptions of the Smoky Mountains.

What does your writing space look like? I have two. My writing space in San Antonio is a quiet desk in the corner of my bedroom. At our lake house, I have a computer table set up looking out at the water.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing? I play five musical instruments and jam and perform with two groups. (Yes, I play the dulcimer like my heroine, and play the same songs she does. I also play the ukulele of my heroine Leilani in ‘Evergreen’.)

What is your favourite color? Hot pink, preferably with white rhinestones

What is your favourite pleasure food? A big plate of Mexican food, complete with guacamole

What is your favourite season? Christmas

What is your favourite television show? Don’t have one. I’d rather spend my time reading a good romance novel.

What is your favourite movie? Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Who is your favourite actor? The late Charlton Heston in his earlier movies

What is your favourite song? Brudda Iz’s ‘Over the Rainbow’

What is your favourite comfort clothing attire? Shorts and an Aloha shirt. Here in San Antonio I wear that 8 months out of 12. For our short, imaginary winter I wear jeans and a T-shirt

What books might we find on your bedside table? None there. However, if you check the I-pad on my so-comfortable sofa in the family room, you will find the absolute latest release of just about all the contemporary romance authors currently at work

Describe yourself in three words. Writer, teacher, doer

BLURB
The widow of a lying drug dealer, dulcimer-player Kylie Barstow Richards finds herself struggling to see through the mist of the Smoky Mountains to the truth-about her life, about the nightclub where she works, and about the bluegrass-playing musician who has arrived to steal her heart.

Excerpt
Kylie looked Ren in the eye. “How much of that is the truth and how much of it was bullshit?”

Ren’s lips firmed. “It’s the truth, every damned bit of it. And that’s also why I did what I did. The DEA honestly thought you were guilty. A drug dealer took out one of my best friends, Kylie. I’ve missed Jerry every day for the last two years.”

“And that justifies what you did to me? Sorry, Ren. Not buying it. And I don’t care what your reasons for lying were, a liar is a liar. And I can’t stand liars.”

“I get that, Kylie. Look, obviously we blew it, and I’m just as sorry as I can be that I hurt you.”

“If you can be believed, which I seriously doubt.”

“I do mean it. I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”

“I am, too, Ren. I was just beginning to have a little bit of faith and trust again and you very effectively managed to take that away from me. Congratulations. I will probably never trust another man as long as I live.”

“Aw, Kylie, no.” Ren leaned forward. “Look, I know there is no way I can take back the lies I’ve already told. But I can promise you this. I will never, ever lie to you again about anything.”

Kylie shrugged. “And now I’m supposed to believe that? Ren, I’m sorry. The damage is done. The trust is broken. Kind of like Humpty Dumpty.”

“I understand. But Kylie, I’m going to tell you the truth from now on whether you believe me or not.”

“Knock yourself out.”
